Dear valued community members,
At Kurtz Bros., safety has always been our top priority. In light of the recent incident at our production facility on Canal Road in Valley View, Ohio, we want to address the situation transparently and reaffirm our commitment to the well-being of our employees, communities, and the environment.
In the early hours of today, March 26, 2024, our facility experienced a spontaneous combustion involving our raw wood products. While such occurrences are not unheard of, given the nature of the materials we work with, we acknowledge that the escalated acceleration was unexpected.
Our employees’ and the community’s safety and security are of utmost importance to us. We are immensely relieved that no injuries were sustained during this incident. This outcome is a testament to the professionalism and preparedness of our team, who promptly followed our established protocols with a sense of urgency.
We sincerely thank the emergency personnel from Valley View, Independence, Cuyahoga Heights, and Maple Heights for their swift response. Their decisive actions undoubtedly prevented further escalation and ensured the safety of all involved.
At Kurtz Bros., we operate with integrity and a profound responsibility toward our employees, communities, and the environment. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adherence to stringent safety measures and environmental standards in all operations.
As we move forward from this incident, we remain steadfast in our commitment to continuously reviewing and strengthening our safety protocols. We will work diligently to prevent similar incidents in the future, prioritizing the safety and well-being of all stakeholders.
